Did you know According to Medical News…
A tomato is a nutrient-dense superfood that offers benefit to a range of bodily systems. Its nutritional content supports healthful skin, weight loss, and heart health.
For some reason, I’ve always really enjoyed tomatoes. I recall my grandparents cutting slices of tomato for lunch. My grandpa would cut a slice and then like a proper gentleman would cut the slice into smaller pieces and I’d watch him get the salt and pepper shakers and give one swift shake of each onto the tomato.
With so many different variations of tomatoes, there are so many things that you can do with them from salads to sauces to the main ingredient in your entree.

Ingredients For A Very Healthy Tomato Salad

  • 5-6 beefsteak tomatoes
  • 2 garlic cloves, grated
  • ⅓ cup sour cream
  • ¼ mayonnaise

Curious about the shawarma rice shown in the first image? Unfortunately, I could not locate the real spice that I needed so I substituted it for Tumeric, tasted amazing and the girls DEVOURED it!

A Shawarma Rice recipe!

  • 2 cups long grain rice (jasmine or basmati)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/2 tsp kasubha (we used Tumeric)

Rinse rice, put in a rice cooker together with water, margarine, and kasubha (tumeric). Cook rice as you would. Once cooked, fluff rice to distribute color. Set aside and keep warm.
